We have known and used the services of Hockley Brothers Contracting Limited on a regular basis for the last 6 years, most particularly in the 4 years since we acquired and started rehabilitating the 85 hectare property at 743 Neudorf Road. This steep, hilly country was so gorse infested that we could not even walk the boundaries. It is now well on the way to being productive pasture, subdivided into grazing paddocks with stock water supplied to every paddock.

A vast majority of the work has been done by Gary and John Hockley, including the roading, dam building (6 dams), some of the 13km of new fencing, hanging 44 stock gates, building a solid set of timber stock yards capable of handling 200 sheep or 60 cattle, tree planting (we have over 400 ornamental trees planted) and the reticulated stock water scheme to the paddocks.

A new house site has been engineered: this has involved significant earth works (an estimated 10,000 cubic metres of soil were moved), trenching in the supply of water, power and telephone cables (1300m of trench) and building the retaining stone wall at the rear of the house site, all to the site engineers entire satisfaction, well within budget and on time. All of this work was done by the Hockley Brothers.

We would highly recommend their services as general contractors - they are multi-skilled, work cheerfully and quickly with the minimum of fuss and always to our compete approval. Their costs are very reasonable.

Commencing in December 2007, we engaged John and Gary Hockley to construct the driveway and platforms for our house build, erect a 4 bay farm shed, excavate house foundations and provide support work and trenching for all household services. 

This work was carried out to a very high standard, enabling us to meet all consent and engineering provisions without any problems. 

Furthermore, John and Gary proved to be great to deal with, not only for ourselves, but also for our contractors and building professionals.

We found Hockley Brothers great to work with. They listened to what we wanted, provided excellent advice and worked extremely hard to make it all happen.
